There are a series of 1-day, 2-day and 3-day workshops prior to Reactive Summit at the Hilton Austin Hotel on October 16, 17, and 18. Handling streams of data—especially “live” data whose volume is not predetermined—requires special care in an asynchronous system. The most prominent issue is that resource consumption needs to be controlled such that a fast data source does not overwhelm the stream destination. Consequently, streaming is one of the hottest topics in the developer community today and back pressure is a concept every developer could benefit from understanding.
In this workshop we will introduce the concepts in Akka Streams that enable the processing of large or unbounded data streams with non-blocking back pressure. This will include both presented material and also hands-on exercises. Y
