Klaus Voormann, legendary musician, friend of the Beatles, creator of the iconic cover of their album Revolver and winner of several Grammy Awards, will launch a new exhibition in Hamburg. Organized as part of the Reeperbahn Festival, this exhibition will be open to the public from 19 to 23 September 2018 and will be dedicated to the important creative work of Voormann, which began in Hamburg in 1958. The exhibition is based on his new book entitled “Klaus Voormann – It started in Hamburg”, released on the occasion of his 80th birthday. In this book, the artist gives a glimpse of his life and his remarkable work, and also remembers the time he spent with The Beatles.
Hamburg plays a central role in the life and work of Klaus Voormann: ” I was born in Berlin , but my heart belongs to Hamburg. Whether it’s my musical or graphic career, it all started in Hamburg. ”
In the special atmosphere of the Reeperbahn Festival, between concerts, performing arts and reading sessions, visitors can immerse themselves in the arts and graphic stories of Voormann’s life and work.
